Being up to my snowballs in Pompoms, Embroidery Hoops, a child and a house move I thought…what else could I add to this list? ‘Host a Christmas Fair’, my brain shouted ‘Ok’ I shouted back, and that’s how this all began!
I’d met the team at St James Hotel through a networking event that I’d attended there. The hotel has been a part of Grimsby town centre since as long as I can remember (and more) and has gone through a huge refurbishment. I spoke with the sales manager, Carl about working within the Totally Locally NEL initiative. We discussed the potential and talent within Grimsby and decided that the hotel would be a perfect venue to showcase some local businesses at my Christmas Fair!
I’m starting small & cosy. You’ll find 11 small businesses each day with a huge range of products on sale. Candles, Cakes, Cards and so much more!

Our Christmas Fair takes place on the first weekend in November. We’ll be open 9.30 – 4.00 on Saturday 3rd and 10-4 on Sunday the 4th at St James Hotel in Grimsby! You’ll find a range of sweet treats, handmade items and stunning gift ideas, perfect to help you on your way to nailing your Christmas shopping! Please feel free to share this event with your friends and family, entry is free and refreshments will be available 🎄🎄🎄
Ok, so you book a room – that’s the easy bit! I really wanted to show off the local businesses who I know and work with on many occasions.
There’s so much creative talent around here and with just 11 stalls each day I’m just scratching the surface. These people literally put blood sweat and tears into what they do.
As well perfect Christmas shopping ideas, I’ve made sure that each day we’ve got a brilliant baker with us. No Christmas Fair is complete without yummy biscuits and cakes! We’ve even got the RSPB coming with info on how to look after the wildlife including bugs and hedgehogs.
The Christmas Fair takes place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of November and you can find full details of the event here!
