Hobbycraft asked me to design them a Candy Cane wreath for Christmas and this is what I came up with. You can download the pattern and instructions for free from the Hobbycraft blog!
I freaking love Christmas
Guess what? I also freaking love Hobbycraft so being asked to make something that they’d share on their blog gave me all the warm fuzzy and festive feels!
I was asked to base my design on a Candy Cane effect. After a good browse through the Hobbycraft website I quickly decided that I wanted to mix up the traditional stripes with something simple but a bit more quirky. Who doesn’t love mistletoe – especially when there’s pompoms involved!
Here’s the best bit. I sent my wish list to the Knit Master and soon arrived a box full of festive loveliness! I picked some of the lovely Knitcraft Cotton Blend yarns in Red, White and Green. These yarns are perfect for crochet as they don’t fluff up too much so the finish is lovely and clean. You can check out the rest of the materials you need in the instructions!
This Candy Cane inspired wreath is an easy make for those who’ve mastered basic crochet stitches. It involves a lot of rows of trebles for the main piece. The crocheted mistletoe is made up using a mixture of double, half treble and treble crochet.
One of the best things about the Candy Cane Wreath is that you can add as many embellishments to it as you’d like! It’s a great base for you to let your imagination go wild with!
The full shopping list, pattern and tutorial are all available free on the Hobbycraft blog – I’d love to see any pictures if you get chance to have a go!
